What Is Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual direction is a prayerful conversation between two people in the presence and guidance of the Holy Spirit. It’s a time to recognize and reflect on how God’s working and a time to respond to God’s loving invitations.
About Jennifer
Isaiah 26:3-4 gave me hope and comfort when I served as a missionary in Ethiopia for 18 years with my husband. My focus during that time was on homeschooling our four kids, partnership development, and administration. We left Ethiopia in 2016 and moved to Indiana. My focus shifted to our family’s transition, women's ministry at church, and caregiving for my dad.My daughter introduced me to spiritual direction. As I learned more about this ministry of companionship and researched various training programs, I felt a stirring and excitement within me. I went on a silent retreat, and it was there that the Holy Spirit confirmed for me to become a spiritual director.My dad passed in early 2026, and I finished my 2-year spiritual direction training from Fall Creek Abbey a few months later. The two years of training were bookended by two-week walks on the Camino trail in Spain. God used these hikes to teach me about watching for Him, following Him, giving up control, refreshment and rest, and finding joy amidst the pain of the journey.I'm excited for this new season of ministry and hope to be used by God to help bring a listening and loving presence, encouragement, and healing to others. It would be an honor to companion you in your journey.
What to Expect
• A monthly session for 50-60 minutes• A time to slow down and be still• A safe space to share what’s on your heart and mind• A time to process and go deeper through questions and silence (not advice, problem-solving, or therapy)• Someone to pray for you• A time of gratitude
